Central Missouri Cardiology (CMC) is Jefferson City’s only practice exclusively dedicated to cardiovascular disease.
Our team includes 6 board certified cardiologists, 1 board certified acute care nurse practitioner, registered nurses, certified medical assistants, certified nuclear technologists, certified ultrasound sonographers along with a complete on-site support staff of front desk, medical records and billing professionals. Together we strive to exceed our patients expectations.
Walter C. Coats, D.O., FACC
Dr. Coats is a native of West Plains, Missouri. He completed his cardiology fellowship at University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri in 2011 and completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois in 2013. Dr. Coats joined CMC in August 2013. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, endovascular procedures, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. He specializes in the treatment blockages in the heart and arteries outside of the heart.
Sarah Hyman, ACNP
Sarah Hyman is a native of Missouri. She completed her masters degree from St. Louis University in 2010 and is board certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Hyman specializes in the medical management of cardiovascular disease.
Patrick Morello, MD, FACC
Dr. Morello is a native of Kentucky. He completed his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships in 1995 at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He began practicing cardiology in Jefferson City in 1996. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and nuclear cardiology.
Jeffrey Sanders, MD, FACC
Dr. Sanders is a native of Jefferson City, Mo. He completed his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the University of Iowa in 1989. Dr. Jeffrey Sanders begin his cardiology practice in Jefferson City in 1989 with his father and cardiologist, Dr. Jack Sanders, at Capital City Missouri Medical Associates. In 2008, Dr. Sanders, Morello, Meyer, Tritz, and Schlegel decided to merge their practices and move to the current location. Dr. Sanders is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology.
William L. Schlegel, DO, FACC
Dr. Schlegel completed his cardiology fellowship at Wilford Hall U.S. Air Force Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Major at the Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Schlegel began his cardiology practice in Jefferson City in 1995. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, and echocardiography.
James Tritz, MD, FACC
Dr. Tritz is a native of Nebraska. He completed his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at the University of Kentucky—Lexington in 1996. He began his cardiology practice in Jefferson City in 1996. Dr. Tritz is board certified in cardiovascular disease and echocardiography.
